■Testnet 2, Protocol v25 upgrade completed! When will the mainnet move?

Pi Network's Testnet 2 has officially been upgraded to Protocol v25.

Currently, Mainnet still maintains Protocol v24, but node operators have already deployed and installed Protocol 25.2 software.

Additionally, Testnet 1 is testing Protocol v26.

This flow is an important sign that Pi Network is preparing very systematically to take the next step.

● Current network progress

  • An environment defined by the 'Real Applications' stage.

  • This is the stable operating environment currently used by all Pioneers.
  • We are maintaining stability as our top priority until sufficient verification is completed.

● Why is this important?

Large blockchains do not deploy new protocols to their mainnet right away.

Generally, the process goes like this:

➡️Develop new features ➡️ Initial testing on Testnet 1 ➡️ Real-world verification on Testnet 2 ➡️ Check performance and security ➡️ Mainnet upgrade

There is only one reason to go through this process.

This is to safely protect real users' assets and networks.

The reason the Pi Core Team is moving cautiously is not because development is slow, but because stability and security are their top priorities.

● Infrastructure already prepared

One thing to note is that Node operators have already installed Protocol 25.2 software.

This means that much of the infrastructure preparation required for the mainnet upgrade has been completed.

Of course, this does not mean that there is an immediate mainnet upgrade schedule. Final application and timing will be subject to the official decision of the Pi Core Team.

Protocol v25 is considered an important step to further improve the stability and efficiency of the network, reduce errors, and strengthen the foundation for future expansion of smart contract functions and various ecosystem services.
