최근 SWIFT가 블록체인과 토큰화(Tokenization)를 활용한 차세대 금융 시스템 구축에 속도를 내고 있는 가운데, 이제 세계 최대 금융시장 인프라 기관 중 하나인 "DTCC(Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation)"도 새로운 단계에 진입한다.

DTCC는 "7월 15일부터 Stellar 블록체인 기반 토큰화 서비스를 제한적으로 운영(Production Rollout)"할 예정이다. 이는 단순한 기술 실증을 넘어, 실물자산(RWA, Real World Assets)을 블록체인에서 발행하고 관리하며 거래하는 새로운 금융 구조의 시작이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.

토큰화는 부동산, 주식, 채권, 펀드, 예술품 등 다양한 자산을 디지털 토큰으로 전환해 거래할 수 있도록 하는 기술이다. 금융업계는 장기적으로 수백조 달러를 넘어 쿼드릴리언(Quadrillion) 규모의 글로벌 자산이 블록체인 기반으로 이동할 가능성에 주목하고 있다.

파이오니어들에게 더욱 흥미로운 부분은 Stellar가 Pi Network와 기술적으로 깊은 연관성을 가진 블록체인이라는 점이다. "Stellar Consensus Protocol(SCP)"은 Pi Network의 합의 알고리즘 설계 기반이 되었으며, 향후 상호운용성과 디지털 자산 생태계 확장에서도 중요한 역할을 할 가능성이 꾸준히 거론되고 있다.

Following SWIFT's accelerated efforts in blockchain-based cross-border payments and tokenization, another major financial institution is taking an important step forward.

DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) is scheduled to begin a limited production rollout of its tokenization service on the Stellar blockchain starting July 15. This represents more than a technical deployment—it marks the beginning of a financial framework where Real World Assets (RWAs) can be issued, managed, and transferred through blockchain technology.

Tokenization enables assets such as real estate, stocks, bonds, funds, and even fine art to be represented as digital tokens. Many industry experts believe that over the coming decades, hundreds of trillions—and potentially even quadrillions—of dollars in global assets could migrate onto blockchain infrastructure.

For the Pi community, Stellar is especially noteworthy. The Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) served as the foundation for Pi Network's consensus design, making Stellar an important reference point in discussions about interoperability and the future digital asset ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Pi Network continues advancing through its Protocol 25 upgrade, laying the groundwork for smart contracts and broader ecosystem expansion.
